Challenge
After unsuccessful partnerships with other staffing providers, a building solutions company located in Peterborough, Ontario decided to take a chance on Manpower. Having recently established a new plant in Vaughan, Ontario, there was an immediate need for skilled fabricators and welders to staff the new plant. Production had already begun and the general manager wanted a partner that could handle the recruit with minimal involvement from his staff.
Within two weeks, Manpower’s team of recruitment and staffing specialists were able to fill 30 fabricators and welder positions at the new Vaughan plant, as well as three additional key salary positions within the office. In addition, our solution also included processes to:
- Build entire workforces of associates in skilled trades, industrial, engineering and warehousing
- Recruit entire construction teams to complete projects on time and on budget
- Support safety initiatives and provide safety training to our associates
- Solicit performance feedback to capture best practices and facilitate continuous improvement

Manpower was able to find efficient solutions to meet the building company’s high expectations and resource requirements in the skilled trades for their engineering office. More importantly, Manpower was able to deliver on our promise, something that three previous recruiters were unable to achieve. Every one of Manpower’s associates were of the highest standard and commitment, resulting in a turnover rate of less than 3%.
