    What will you bring to the job?
    * 2+ years of quality control experience
    * Prior safety inspection experience
    * A background in engineering (this is a huge plus!)
    * A working knowledge of electrical and mechanical measurement instruments
    * Familiarity with OSHA regulations as well as local safety requirements
    * Good communication skills
    * Strong mechanical aptitude; mechanical or electrical coursework is a plus!
    * Good computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office

    Responsibilities:
    Serve as the manufacturing liaison between Engineering Department and Production Team for both new product introduction as well as sustaining engineering.
    Assist with product planning at all levels of the product development cycle, providing input to new part set up and production schedule.
    Responsible for optimization of production lines and manufacturing processes.
    Provide engineered solutions to machining and mechanical assembly problems.
    Design and document gage, tooling, and fixture designs for use in inspecting, machining, and assembling of machine components.
    Create material specifications for machined parts with a focus on optimizing the manufacturing process.
    Provide engineering support for CNC programmers in areas such as part print interpretation and resolving CAD model issues.
    Assist in the preparation of set up sheets, quality control plans, manufacturing work instructions and product test procedures to ensure a high standard of quality and to improve productivity.
    Assist in developing training plans and conduct training for production personnel within both machining and assembly functions.
    Work with Quality Personnel and Design Engineers to resolve non-conformance issues as they arise using both a corrective and preventative approach.
    Assist with preparation of facility layouts and machine tool installations.
    Assist with developing and implementing machine tool maintenance schedules.
    Apply company methods to drive manufacturing process improvements at both a participant and team leader levels.

    Requirements:
    Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
    Previous work experience in a machining or mechanical assembly environment.
    General knowledge of basic machining processes such as turning, drilling, milling, and grinding.
    General knowledge of metrology including use of inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and CMMs.
    CAD experience, with working knowledge of solid modeling and drafting (Solidworks preferred).
    Working knowledge of GD&T, product lifecycle management, and documentation control.
    Must be self-motivated with a strong ability to work independently.
    Must be a skilled problem solver that is both hands-on as well as analytically capable.
    Must demonstrate organizational skills necessary to manage multiple tasks at once, being able to provide accurate project status updates when required.
    Must have a strong sense of urgency and be a team player, focused on encouraging employee involvement in improving activities and promoting change.
    Must have strong people skills necessary to interact with and convey ideas to individuals at all levels in the organization.
    Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, Power Point. Knowledge of Power BI, Minitab, Access, and others preferred.
    Willingness to travel domestically a few times a year, primarily to our Norwood, MA headquarters.

    This position is located in Austin Texas. There is no relocation package available. This ad is being marketing in different cities in the United States to find candidates willing to relocate to Austin, Texas for work.

    Apply theory and principles of mechanical and manufacturing engineering to modify, develop systems, set up tools, test, and adjust manufacturing machinery and equipment. Equipment uses a combination of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and computer technologies.     Control Systems Technician - Fleet Maintenance Rep - Locomotives - position available with a leading global rail transportation company. Offering excellent compensation package (80K++) , benefits, pension and company vehicle provided. Will be primarily based in the Toronto area. Growth potential in role to management.

    The Technician provides technical advice to the maintenance workforce in order to enhance equipment reliability of the locomotive fleet. This includes advice on: restoration and resolution to equipment failures, semi-complex equipment installation, modifications and repairs.

    Responsibilities:

    Provides technical advice to the maintenance workforce to enhance equipment reliability
    Responding and supporting to completion any troubleshooting and repairs to assigned service requests
    Identifies non-conformance issues and makes recommendations to improve locomotive performance
    Conducts on-going on the job, system operation training for the customers
    Assists other technicians in assigned troubleshooting and repair works
    Assume responsibility for timely and accurate report of defective or damaged productions. This includes troubleshooting and performing quality product repairs, handling parts shipments
    Maintaining a positive, professional working relationship with the customer, which includes timely feedback and communication regarding repairs - includes ongoing communication with management regarding customer repairs and/or concerns, proactive communications with management and operations regarding field issues, and ongoing, proactive communication within field service team.

    Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

    Related post-secondary diploma - Electro-Mechanical
    Required experience: Minimum five years' experience working on locomotives (rail transportation) or similar systems, this includes electrical, mechanical and air systems. Diesel, Trucking and Aerospace industry experience will also be considered
    Strong organizational and communication skills - will be interacting with customers
    Must be control systems savvy - have an understanding of the Locomotive computer control and the interworking there of
    Note - This is a hands on position where an understanding of computer controls is required along with the ability to execute changes to wiring and devices as required. This is NOT a programming position.
    Must be able to read an electrical schematic and identify the components easily
