The Technical Control Coordinator is being added for a 10 month contract in Lansing, MI. They will serve as an organization Incident Manager, Technical Release Coordinator, Implementation Manager, and provide environment planning and preparation, and coordinate the activities of the Technical Control Group and other MiCSES teams to meet MiCSES project objectives.
* Incident Manager
*Provide support after normal business hours (i.e., nights, weekends, and holidays) and participate in a 24 x 7 on-call rotation.
o When it is not possible or practical to direct the efforts of other teams, perform the follow-up and escalations necessary to ensure sufficient progress is made towards immediate resolution and longer term root cause follow-up.
o Consult with technical experts to identify and correct problems.
o Monitor for other incidents with related symptoms or potential impact to systems
o Provide frequent status during the incidents to leadership for outages with user impact.
o Provide incident reports for unscheduled system unavailability.
* Technical Release Coordinator
o Understand and ensure execution of all technical team tasks needed to prepare a release for implementation (from Requirements gathering through User Acceptance Test).
o Work directly with maintenance, development, testing, and training teams to provide and manage databases and applications needed to support various efforts/releases.
o Understand and communicate potential impacts to the project release schedule when changes are requested or approved.
o Provide oversight to ensure all environments are configured in a consistent and proper manner.
* Implementation Manager
o Define implementation plan for all components incorporating hand-offs with other project teams.
o Oversee and coordinate execution of the implementation plan consistently in all environments.
o Collaborate with the Project Control Office Implementation Manager and other project implementation teams.
o Provide implementation management for interim and emergency releases.
* Technical and project team coordination
o Serve as the focal point for communications with other project teams requiring services.
o Coordinate/plan scheduled weekend maintenance activities on a rotating schedule.
o Provide a single point of contact for Remedy tickets assigned to the Technical Control Group (TCG).
o Assign Remedy tickets to the appropriate TCG sub team as requested/needed.
* Request for Change (RFC) / Enterprise Change Management
o Enter/Assess RFC's for all changes that meet the necessary criteria
o Review RFC's and assess/manage impact for items that may affect systems
o Coordinate with other teams.
o Participate in the Enterprise Change Board meetings as requested/needed.
Experience and Required Skills
o 2 years configuration management experience on various platforms
o 2 years experience working in a maintenance and development environment - very large in size, scope, and complexity
o Excellent personal organizational and planning skills, with the ability to multi-task
o Project management experience
o Ability to conduct impact analyses
o Experience in contingency planning, feasibility studies, and risk management
o Ability to read and comprehend architectural diagrams
o Microsoft Project Schedule knowledge/experience
